WordPerfect Office is an office suite that was developed by Corel and first released in 1994. WordPerfect Office was written in the C++ language for the Windows Operating System and is available in Standard, Professional, Legal and Home and Student editions. WordPerfect was original created by Novell, before being sold to Corel two years later.
WordPerfect Office comes with the WordPerfect word processing application, the Quattro Pro spreadsheet application and the Presentations software, which is used to create slide shows and other presentations, much like the PowerPoint software application. WordPerfect Office also includes a digital notebook titled Lightning, a document manager called nuance Paperport, the Mozilla Firefox web browser and the WinZip compressing and archiving tool. Depending on the edition of the WordPerfect Office software purchased, it can also come bundled with Mozilla Thunderbird, the WordPerfect book publishing application, Microsoft SharePoint and a few other software applications.
WordPerfect Office is primarily used for the Windows Operating System. A Mac version was released a number of years ago, but no versions have been released since nor are there any plans to release such versions of the software.
