CDG stands for Compact Disc plus Graphics and denotes a file that has been generated by this program.
The file contains a raw, uncompressed and unconverted image (usually in low-resolution) that is used to show a graphic which references a song stored in a corresponding audio file. These files are used by karaoke programs that show graphics and lyrics whilst the music is playing.
